Heavy rains left the Ho Township flooded and in darkness on Monday.
The rains which started at the early hours of the night and lasted for more than an hour hit many parts of the town with roofs ripped off and cars stuck in flood waters.
Choked drains and culverts overflowed with debris.
Some roads within the capital which flooded include the Dome-Barracks, YMCA-Civic Centre-Asanyame, OLA-Market and Poly roads.
Students who left for the Easter Holidays with their Hostel Rooms locked might return to meet their belongings soaked.
Citi News visits to Awula, Bulawayo and Divine star Hostels located along the roads leading to the main entrance of Ho Polytechnic saw how the flood swept through their premises.
There was a power outage which lasted for almost an hour.
In an interview with Citi News the Mr. Simon Miles Bakar the Volta Regional Coordinator of NADMO said his men have been deployed to assess the extent of damage. He said no casualties have been reported yet.
He however blamed the flood on poor waste disposal and the building on water ways.
