Buying acid is as easy as buying tomatoes on the market [Audio]

Eric Ohemeng, a third-year student of GIMPA was bathed with acid by his girlfriend because he jilted her.

Following the incessant reports of people acquiring acid to deform persons who may have hurt or offended them particularly in failed romantic relationships, there have been growing concerns about the ease with which people acquire the harmful substance in the open market.

Many people have suffered devastating  and perpetual injuries from acid attacks, some of which have resulted in deaths.

In the report below, Citi News’ Farida Shaibu, investigated this troubling phenomenon to find out what the relevant authorities are doing  to curb the easy access to the poisonous and destructive substance.
