Striking nurses at the various hospitals across the country have suspended their week-long strike.
This includes psychiatric nurses and the coalition of unpaid nurses.
The Accra Psychiatric Hospital nurses who laid down their tools last Thursday over unpaid salaries have given government a three-week ultimatum to address their challenges.

A statement issued by the Ministry of Health stated that the Controller and Accountant General has released an amount of GH₵756, 000 for the payment of the salaries.
Speaking to Citi News, the spokesperson for the Accra psychiatric hospital nurses, Frederick Asare Donkor said even though their various hospitals have been directed to pay to them, the money from the ministry does not cover the full amount owed them.
“We have received the document but we realized there were some discrepancies. What they issued is just 133 people and we are more than that. We were not given specific funds as to the amount each nurse is receiving- they are just rounded figures,” he said.
Mr. Donkor further stated that they will take the money and return to work on Friday but will resume the strike at the end of the month if authorities fail to correct the anomalies.
