Ebusua Dwarfs have admitted to being nervy in their CAF Confederations Cup second round first leg tie at home to Petrol Atletico on Sunday.
The home side won by two goals by zero from David Gomes and Ricky Adjei but, according to their spokesperson, Adjetey Djanie, they lacked calmness in front of goal to put away the chances they created on the day.
” We had a tough game because the lads were nervous. We had to remind to take things easy because the constant incursions into the opponents’ goal area always meant we could benefit from a foul and take advantage of those.
But things improved in the second half for us and we managed to score twice. We hope to do well in the second leg and go further in the competition.”
Meanwhile, Medeama also grabbed a vital 3-0 win in their Confederations Cup tie against MAS Fez in Tarkwa.
The Yellow and Mauves went into the lead through Malik Akowuah and then scored two more through Kabiru Imoro and Kwame Boahene to put them in a good position ahead of the second leg in Morocco.
Berekum Chelsea, however, were not that fortunate as they were held at home by Al-Ahly Benghazi.
The visitors took the lead through Solomon Jabason in the second half, but the Blues pulled even when Obed Owusu scored in the second minute of added time to set up a challenging second leg in Libya.
